Director of so many classics that defined the 80's such as, National Lampoons Vacation, 16 Candles, Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Some Kind of Wonderful, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck (my favorite), and many others.

oh....meant to add....he passed yesterday of a heart attack. he was 59 years young.

ah memories. Seriously nobody else has ever come close to making movies for teens like he did..captured the angst and humor and awkwardness of high school perfectly.
