A Few Drawings
I mainly prefer to draw in chalk pastels, so here's a few of my favorites.
Done back in.... I think Fall 2007? All of these are chalk pastels, the third one also has charcoal:
18"x24"
18"x24"
appx. 4'x7'6"
Spring 2008; mixed media (charcoal, conte crayon, graphite, tracing paper, guache, india ink, etc.):
apprx. 48"x22"
Fall 2008:
22"x33"

Thanks!
Any comments or suggestions of how any of them could improve are definitely welcome, by the way.

Re: A Few Drawings
What exactly do you mean by cross-contour? You mean like hatching underneath the top layer?

this drawing is not mine, and it was tough to find an example on photobucket, but its drawing as if the surface was made of wire frame. rather than a contour drawing that deals with edges, its a mapping of surfaces.... you have prolly done it, to be sure, but we prolly have differing terminology.
note the horizontal linework that traces the surface of the planes of the skin.... (hope i helped.)

OOHHHHHHH yeah hahaha.... I've done that before, but never for a finished product or drawing. I've always used that technique more for sketches and whatnot, you know?
Thanks, though! I'll have to try that next time; would definitely help with depth! I don't think I've ever considered what it was called, though, you know?

That's funny, because the image actually references a tree trunk.... I can't recall what kind of tree, but the bark flakes off and the whole thing is all knotty and shit.twyliteskyz wrote:awsome! that second one is scary! i dont know why
