Some of my Oil Paintings
If I remember correctly, this one is 24"x22". It was a texture study; I created a collage out of magazine cut-outs and then duplicated the image to learn how to create different textures. I still want to do some more work on it, but just haven't gotten around to it. Oh, and it's on stretched canvas.
I think these panels are about 18"x24" stretched canvas. I actually bought these so it's whatever that standard size is hahaha.....
3'x4' stretched canvas
2'x4' primed masonite board; this one is definitely not finished, but here's a start on it.

Re: Some of my Oil Paintings
Thank you! The passion flower actually has a LOT of work and meaning behind it. I used three different Veves (symbols in Voodoo that represent the Loas, or spirit demi-gods) under the layers of primer. Also under the primer is some free hand writing about my sister (who the painting is about). One of the Veves is for Papa Legba, who is kind of the gatekeeper between humans and the other Loas, and the other two Veves are for Loas that my sister is associated with.
Anyway, the Passion flower is my sister's favorite, and something she has considered getting a tattoo of for a while (she has no tattoos presently). The whole series I'm working on that go with this panel are along the same lines; images of things that people would get as tattoos, but not in the same style as an actual tattoo, if that makes sense.
LOTS of labor has already gone into this. I think I had about three or four layers of primer (with the writing and Veves drawn in between layers), then I've already put on about three layers in the painting. Still more to do!
